Potter's Pond...Part Two!

For Jon's birthday, we decided to do another camping trip to Potter's Pond.  This time Kris (Jon's Mom), Laurie (Jon's Sister), and James (our nephew) came along.  We had fun, even if it rained a lot.  Laurie helped a ton with the kids.  She is so creative and when things get boring she knows how to get the kids to use their imagination.  Kris was a ball.  It was fun listening to her stories about her own childhood.  I tease her a lot and I am glad she can handle my sense of humor.

Remi looking for trouble.  He is a ton of work.  I feel like he has to be continually strapped in his high chair or pack and play.  Thank goodness Aunt Laurie was with us to entertain him.  She was a life saver.

 James having a sipperoo.

Don't let him fool you.  This child did more hitting, scratching, and pinching on this trip.  We all got whacked a time or two.

Mr. Unmanageable.  His face looked this messy the entire trip.

Judd could not leave his fishing pole alone.  Once Jon set it all up, Judd would mess around with it. I am sure it was driving Jon crazy, but he was patient.

 Potter's Pond is beautiful.

 Judd reeling one in.

Someone made out with his Doritos, can you tell?

The boys found a little fort and decided to set up chairs and hang out for awhile.

 Jame, Judd, & Remi

I look like I just rolled out of bed.  Camping really makes you feel beautiful, not!

Dear Remi...words cannot describe how naughty you were on this trip.

Going on a ride with Dad.

Remi wanted to be just one of the boys.

 Like Father, Like Son!

We had to trap him one way or another.  The entire time Jon was being tortured by Remi.

Wouldn't be camping without a little dirt on your nose.

James was adorable the entire time.  He is so quiet and sweet.  He loved being able to hang out with Uncle Jon.

Judd left his helmet out during a rain storm so we had to get creative when he wanted to put it on for another ride.

James loves his helmet and wears it even if he isn't on a four wheeler.

Being silly around the camp fire.

Camping...Potter's Pond

This past weekend we went to Potter's Pond with the Dansie Family.  We had lots of fun and wanted to spend just one more day there.  Friday and Saturday were rainy and cold but Sunday morning was beautiful.  Remi was unmanageable most the time but Judd loved every minute of it.  He was confused as to why we weren't permanently going to stay up in the mountains.  I am looking forward to more camping trips in the future.

Jon and Judd waiting to catch a fish.  The fishing here is awesome.  Jon taught Judd how to cast a line and he did pretty good.

 Me and Judd

This is how we confined Remi so he didn't go into the pond or fire.

Lincoln and Judd.  I am not sure what they are doing.

Getting ready for the raft ride.  Poor Lincoln fell in the pond.  Good thing he had his life jacket on so he didn't sink.

 Row, Row, Row your boat!

Remi ticked off about having to take a nap.

We had a huge rain and then hail storm so we got locked up in the trailer.  Thank heavens for technology.  Remi even enjoyed a little DS time.

Rain, Rain, go away....Come again another day!

 Remi and Jon

 Should be napping.

Lincoln and Judd being silly around the camp fire.

Enjoying a little snuggle time with his dad.

Playing in the stream...it was slipperyyyyy!

Of course, Abbey had to come.  She was exhausted by the end of the trip.

Put the Lime in the Coconut

When I think of Summer it reminds me of the song..."You put the lime in the coconut and shake it all up."  Summer for me is a double edge sword....the heat is a killer but you can do so many fun things.  This summer we have been hitting our community pool.  It is fun to get to visit with neighbors while the kids swim.  Remi isn't much a fan but Judd wasn't at his age either.  The pics I took aren't that great because my camera is broken.  Even though I have it on the automatic flash setting, it still won't flash so the pictures are blurry or dark.  I need to buy a new one soon because I feel like I am missing out on some good pics of the boys.

Remi is more into climbing around than swimming.  He is ball of thunder these days.  He loves, and I mean loves, to antagonize Judd.  I have had to separate them in the car because Remi likes to pinch, pull, or tear your face off.  Naughty pants.

This is the first summer Judd has wanted to swim.  Today I had to tell him to stop doing a flip when entering the water because he almost hit his head on the concrete.  I love days when we swim because he is exhausted come evening and bedtime isn't such a fight.

Judd loves playing with Brayston, the little boy I babysit.  They are like brothers.  They love playing with each other but they can also fight over a toy or two.  It is so fun for Judd to have a playmate his age.

Nothing better than a slurpee after swimming for hours.  Like I said my pic quality is horrible.

Remi is at a stage where is loves to pose and say "cheese"

 Booger Nose!

I just love being able to stay home with these little guys.  They are hard work but it is well worth it.
