Poor Remi

Remi got his tubes two weeks ago and I thought all his problems were over. I took him today for his post office visit and he was put on a gazillion antibiotics for a respiratory infection. I wish this kid could catch a break. Even though he feels yucky, he is still so sweet and happy.

Laurie's Birthday

Laurie decided that for her birthday she wanted to go to Tuscano's in Provo. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that it was BYU graduation and the wait was forever long. So, we left and went to the Brazilian grill in American Fork. Poor Laurie was disappointed but I hope we made it fun for her. I know I had enjoyed spending time with the family.

Big Boy Bed

Jon and I are trying to break a bad habit of Judd sleeping in our bed. Most the time he starts off in our bed because I am exhausted when it is bedtime and don't have the energy to battle with him. I never thought I would be "that parent," one who lets their child sleep with them. What humble pie I am eating for being judgmental about this specific topic. Well, enough is enough. For a week now, Judd has gone to sleep in his own bed. Now we just need to work on getting him to stay in his bed. Some how the little rascal manages to slip in without us knowing.

The other night Jon and I were watching a movie downstairs and Judd came down to tell us he was scared. I told him he could lay on the couch for a few minutes until our movie ended. He snuggled up to Abbey and fell fast asleep. I lugged him back to his bed where he dreamed of sugar plums and stayed in his bed the entire night!

Tubes

The night before the surgery I didn't sleep a wink. I wasn't so much worried about the surgery, as I was about getting there on time. I am so thankful that Jon's dad and step mom took Judd. And, I am thankful that Jon opted to come with me, even though I know Mondays are stressful for him to miss. The surgery didn't last more than ten minutes. It was the checking in and waiting for the doctors to arrive that took the longest, but they did a great job and I have no complaints.

Already I am seeing the benefits of tubes. At Remi's last appointment I was telling the doctor that I was concerned because Remi is not doing the things Judd was at his age. I told him that he wouldn't even suck out of straw. The doctor told me that could be connected to his ears, because of the pain that comes with sucking. After the operation I had a water bottle that had a straw and Remi took his first sip. I was so excited that I think my eyes got a little watery. I am even seeing Remi imitate sounds that he wouldn't even attempt a day ago. I was taking a picture of him and told him to say "cheese." To my surprise he imitated the word right back. I am so thankful for tubes.

Easter Day!

Judd found his Easter basket first off. He loved all the little treats the bunny left him.

Wouldn't be Easter without some kind of Power Rangers toy.

Judd was so excited to have a Spiderman swim suit cover in his Easter basket.

Looking for all the eggs. They weren't hidden too hard. Next year the Easter Bunny will be a little more tricky.

I love Judd's age. Easter is so magical for him. I love this picture because you can see a hint of a grin. When he was getting these eggs, he kept saying, "That silly Easter Bunny."

Judd woke up before Remi but instead of waking him up we let Judd go ahead and find his basket and eggs. Poor Remi wasn't feeling well...of course he had another ear infection, so I thought it was best to let him catch some zzzzz. On Monday he received tubes and is doing well. I will blog about that next :). Once Remi was up he was so excited for all his surprises. I think his favorite find was the candy.

Remi enjoyed his peanut butter cup shaped like an Easter egg.

My mom and dad did their annual Easter egg hunt. Each grandchild is assigned an egg type and then gets to locate a certain amount of them. This year Judd's eggs were shaped as cars and Remi's were little chicks. In each egg there is money. This year Grandma Carolyn hid the eggs too well, because a lot of the kids couldn't find their eggs. Luckily my mom wrote up a cheat sheet just in case we ran into this problem.

Judd as happy as a clam after finding all of his eggs!

Heriman with the Dansies!

The Dansie family was nice enough to invite us up on Saturday to their Easter egg hunt in Heriman. We had a lot of fun!

We brought our nephew James up with us. The boys love four wheeling in Heriman because they have so much property and there are deer all around.

All the kids getting ready for the Easter egg hunt.

We took the boys to fly a kite. The wind was perfect.

Things that I Love!

We hope you all have a Happy Easter. I love why we celebrate Easter, and not to mention the candy is phenomenal.

I hosted playgroup and we made these cute little nests with eggs. I think I had more fun than the kids, because all they wanted to do is eat the jelly beans. All the kids in Judd's playgroup are adorable. I love watching them interact and the conversations they have between each other are hysterical.

Someone wants to be a Power Ranger when he grows up. Judd said, "Remi is going to be a doctor, and I am going to be a Power Ranger." Great plan.

Poor Remi got a sunburn last Saturday and his little nose developed a blister that eventually popped. Sunblock is going to be permanently placed in my diaper bag from this time on!

Remi is still not walking but he is getting close. Most the time he pushes his walker on his knees but recently he has started to stand up.

Judd is always my little helper. His responsibility that night according to him was to... "Paint the chops with sauce."

Saturday Outing

Jon's sister, Laurie, invited us to one of her work events at UVU. She works for Kids on the Move and the event was recognizing Autism. It was quite a windy day but we all managed to get a sunburn. We had fun eating hot dogs, watching the baseball game, running around on the playground, and watching lots of balloons being released at the the same time. I am very proud of my sister-in-law. She is amazing and all her co-workers told me how much they loved her for how hard she works. She really is a smarty pants. Enjoy the pics.

Laurie is the one with the black, round sunglasses.

Someone did not want to let go of his balloon!
