Jon's b-day & Camping

Jon's birthday was on the 23rd and he repeatedly mentioned that he wanted to go camping for it. In the spirit of love I agreed to go, even though I am terrified of camping for one reason and one reason only....BEARS. Two of my biggest fears are: a) I will get eaten by a shark when I go in an ocean & b) I will be eaten by a bear when camping. Dumb I know but it brings me much anxiety. It would certainly be my luck to have one of these two things occur, luckily this time it didn't :). We decided to go camping with the Colby family and headed up the mountain Friday afternoon. We were suppose to meet them at Potter's Pond at 2pm but they didn't show up, so we decided wait and fish. Jon was on a roll because within 20 minutes he caught 5 fish. Since we were only permitted to catch 8 we stopped and went to look for a place to set up camp. You can only imagine my fear as we continued up the mountain because there were no camp sites available. The higher we got the more bears I thought there would be. Finally we found a spot, which unfortunately was by a herd of sheep that did not shut up EVER! Jon was nice and set up camp while I downed a few waters. It was fun watching Judd want to help set up the tent and it probably took Jon twice as long because Judd wanted to fully participate and kept taking off with the hammer. Once camp was set up we went back down to the lake to see if we could locate our friends. Still no sign of them so we went on a four wheeler ride. Judd loves to drive the four wheeler and if you aren't careful you find yourself getting whiplash because Judd has decided to push the gas to its maximum when you are at a complete stop. Little Booger! Luckily on the ride we ran into the Colby's and they were able to follow us to the camp site. The Colby family includes four kids, which I don't know how they do it. Jon and I had a hard time controlling our one. We hadn't seen their kids in a long time so it was fun getting to know them a little better. Instantly their little girl, Alora, became my best friend and their oldest son, Jason, was a hoot and a holler. The kid is so friendly and never stops talking. While sitting around the camp fire he massaged my back and begged to rub my feet. He was kind of a little flirt! When night time came I thought for sure Judd would sleep like a champ because he didn't have a nap but oh was I wrong. He fell asleep while we were sitting around the camp fire but when we went into the tent he was up and at it. I think our tent was too much for him to handle and he wanted to help Jon continue to feed the fire. Let me explain....Jon has a pretty cool tent since he hunts half of his life away. It has a small burning stove inside with a vent that lets out the smoke. I felt like I was in a small, warm cottage the entire night. Judd was pretty excited about it too, so lets just say we got about 2 hours of sleep that night and the next day I was exhausted. Since I was trying to get Judd to settle down, I forgot about the whole bear situation, plus there were three dogs with us and not one of them barked the entire night so I figured we were pretty safe. The next morning we fished, went on another four wheeling ride, played in a stream (which Judd fell in and wasn't happy about) and just hung around the camp fire and visited. I have to be honest though by 11am I was rearing to go home but I knew Jon wanted to stay most the day. So, I bucked up and decided to enjoy it (since Jon & Judd were really having a good time) rather then drop major hints that I was done. Once it was time to pack up Jon turned into a major "Bear." Do you remember when you were younger and a vacation was ending? My parents would get tense and ornery, probably because they knew that they had to face the real world and an abundant amount of laundry. So, while I wanted to do back flips naked because we were going home, Jon was having himself a little temper tantrum. Later that night when we got home he apologized for being a drama queen and we finished the night with laundry and went to bed early. It was a fun trip and I am glad that Jon pushes me to do things that scare the pants right off of me. I enjoyed being able to spend time with him and Judd. I am amazed at what a good Dad Jon is and how Judd adores everything he says and does. He has taught me how to enjoy nature and be at ease with those things I can't control. I hope his Birthday was fun! Sorry for the over load of pictures but I couldn't help myself.

This Little Stinker is Going to be a Big Brother!!!

*Yes he is asleep in style. Loves his sunglasses. He took one of his friend's pair home last week (sorry Jill and Aiden....we owe you a new pair b/c Judd broke them) but they were definitely a pair for a girl. So, we found him some manly ones! He is such a nerd :).

Judd is going to be a big brother! I am due December 28th and will be having another little boy. I am only 15 weeks but I couldn't wait to find out whether we were having a boy or girl. We went to fetal photo. The guy who runs it was a doctor in another country but doesn't have the credentials to be one here. Anyway, he was very nice and my Mom would probably kill me for saying this, but I think she had a little crush on him. The first time we went he said he was only 98% sure it was a boy because the cord was wrapped around the legs of the baby, so he gave a free pass to come back the following week. We went again the following week and he said he is 200% it is a boy this time. I think his exact words were, "Yup, I was right. He does have a little stinger." I thought for sure we were having a little girl because this pregnancy has been so different. With Judd I was barely sick and felt pretty good. With this one I feel like I have been hit by a bus as soon as I get up and throughout the day, heart burn continually radiates throughout my knee caps, and I am exhausted like nothing else. Poor Judd has had to fend for himself. I am very thankful to be pregnant and it is all worth it, but this sickness and exhaustion is killing me, literally. Hopefully I will start feeling better soon because I think my husband is ready to send me to the moon on a one way ticket. Seriously, why can't men experience pregnancy just for 5 minutes, just to see what we go through. They wouldn't last a minute :). I shouldn't be so hard on him. Jon really has been trying to watch his eye ball rolls and choose words that he knows won't make me burst into a ball of tears. Judd seems to understand a little that there is a baby growing inside my belly. It is a toss up each day whether he is going to kiss my belly or smack it (it is usually the latter) but I think once he is here he will be ecstatic. Now if I could just get Jon to agree on name that I think is cute!
