More Happenings in December!

This little booger nose turned one in the middle of December. We adore this little guy.

This is after his party was over at the bowling alley. He was plum tuckered tired.
Chasing his new Zhu-Zhu pet around the house.

Grandma dropped off his presents.

Judd literally chucking the bowling bowl in the air.

For dinner we went to Porter's Place. We didn't plan it, but the night before I gave birth to Remi, we ate at Porter's Place with some family friends. They have the best scones.

This is how my husband poses for pictures. He deserves me posting this b/c he is worse than the kids when comes to taking pictures.
Dean Family Party. My Grandpa died many years ago and his wife went to a retirement home. So, we met one last time at our Grandpa and Grandma Dean's house before they sell it. I once heard on a medium show that those little bubbles in the pictures are spirits so I am going to pretend that my Grandparents were there celebrating Christmas with us.

Me, Judd, and Aunt Laurie went to see the temple lights. It was so, so cold but they were beautiful.
As I mentioned before, Jon's mom does the twelve days of Christmas. She gets help from Aunt Laurie. It was so fun this year. It was centered around "green." We helped the Grinch grow his heart by doing good deeds, we made green wreaths, we danced to Christmas carols, we decorated trees, we ate tree pancakes. This list could go on. Thanks Granny Law for such a special Christmas.

December 2011

I can't believe this year is coming to a close. I feel like the older I get, the more I want to slow down time. With Judd, I was always excited for him to graduate to the next step but with Remi I don't want him to transition so quickly! This month I haven't felt the "Christmas" spirit and I keep hoping that through some lame Christmas song on FM100, I will find it. It hasn't worked yet, but I still keep the radio station permanently on every night as I make my way to work. My lack of spirit probably has to do with working more hours than I thought. I give my students their final assessments this week and then I have a small break. I keep telling Judd and Remi to watch out because Christmas activities are about to be unleashed.

I can't believe Remi will be turning 1 this Thursday. It seems like yesterday I was at the hospital having him, enjoying my room being right next to the fountain machine. Oh how I love their ice and diet coke. Remi is my little sunshine. I love that kid so much that sometimes I think my heart is going to burst. I watch him sleep at night and think how lucky I am to have him. Last week Remi got the tummy flu and it was so sad. He would puke, then tilt his little head and give me a smile, just to go back to barfing his little guts out.

Judd is my fireball of emotion and I couldn't live a minute without him. He tests my patience everyday, but he also makes me laugh my pants off. No matter what I do or say, he loves the snot out of me and wants to be under my feet all the time. What a little buddy he is. He has perfected sneaking in our room to sleep at night and I don't have the heart to carry him back to his. What a blessing it is to have children.

Jon's mom and sister do the 12 Days of Christmas for each family, so they start it off with a Christmas party. Since we were all together we decided to celebrate Remi's upcoming birthday. Don't worry, he has pooped blue for days!

Teaching him that he is turning 1!

I love this picture because he is looking at Judd. Remi thinks Judd rocks, even when he about pull his arm out of socket.

I was watching my neighbor's kid and he was being picked up. I set Remi's yogurt on the counter and went to answer the door. When I returned Remi had stashed the yogurt in his arm and fed himself. He did a phenomenal job!

Let the games begin. We had to put the gate up since mister twister is quite the dare devil. Don't ask me why but around 5pm Judd becomes a little "WT" (white trash) and likes to take his shirt off and meander around town that way. We don't get it but it is like clock work.

99% of the time it looks like Judd is an orphan because his face is goober galore. I love this picture of him and I love him.

Judd was shooting at Remi so Remi decided to return fire with his lotion bottle, which came equipped with shooting sounds from his mouth.

In honor of army crawling, we have had some army crawl races. Judd and Remi are totally into it. However, to restart poor Remi has to deal with this. No worries, Judd was very careful.

Remi's room is always so cold. We have adjusted the vents but it is still freezing. Therefore, this is how he goes to bed.

I love catching pictures of Judd like this one. I wish I had a better camera. Maybe that is what Santa could bring me :).

Happenings!

I wish I could say that my lack of blogging is because our family has been on some exotic vacation or involved in fabulous activities, but really life has been same old...same old. As I stock other families on the internet, I wonder to myself why am I not that kind of mom? Are Judd and Remi going to cherish their childhood memories? Probably not, maybe, who knows. I hope to heck they do. What I have come to realize that with Judd, it is the small things that count. Each night as I review the day with Judd, I am shocked at what has made an impression on him...I love that the most delightful things in Judd's world, are centered around "JON," aka Dad.

I have started working again. A part-time job landed in my lap and I knew I should take it. I work nights, so Jon has been going solo. The house may look like a bomb has gone off when I get home but I don't care. The boys are happy and I appreciate Jon not complaining once about his nights being totally committed to diaper/dinner duty. My job involves me going into children's homes and tutoring them. Tutoring has reminded me why I went to school to become a teacher. I love making learning fun and interesting. I love teasing my students. I love getting to know the parents. I love that this job makes me want to speed home to be with my family!

Judd and Remi may be pains in the butt, but I sure do love them. I hope you know I say the previous comment with a huge smile on my face, because right now I am literally wrestling Remi for the keyboard. And boy, is he ripe. Remi's personality is taking on a shape of its own . He is a ball of cuteness, naughtiness, and everything in between. He isn't crawling, but his army crawl gets the job done. He imitates every action you do. When you tell him "No," he looks at you like he doesn't give a funnion. He has rearranged my Christmas ornaments a gazillion times. He puts up with Judd and for that he deserves a gold medal. Judd's little disposition is still as stubborn as they come, but the older he gets I see positive changes. He knows what he wants and does what he needs to get it. Unfortunately, he thinks his Christmas budget is limitless. Everyday he adds another thing he "has to have" to the list.

Well, this soon to be one year old needs a bum change.

Pics that I Love!

*Warning...there is a hunting pic that may gross you out. May want to skip.

My little Remi is still enjoying his baths. Sometimes he gets two a day because it puts him in better spirits when he is dealing with his ears.
These two love the snot right out of each other.
He had a blue balloon that he was playing with and loved it. He giggled like a school girl as he pulled it down, just to watch it float right back up.

After a long weekend of fun. When weekends come to an end I get sad because I know Jon goes back to work. I love it when we are all home together.
Sporting his winter gear
He is a worker bee. Loves to help me.
Remi doesn't like the bottle, which makes it hard for me to leave him with Jon. Slowly we are getting him to take one. Well, Judd is. If I try he pushes it away because he wants the real thing.

Halloween Night

This year Halloween was very low key. Unfortunately, the day of, wasn't fun for both boys because I had to take them to the doctor. Remi, of course, had a double ear infection and Judd had a piece of residue covering one of his tubes, so needless to say they weren't in good spirits. So, instead of going out with friends, we hunkered in at home with a little trick or treating. After we got our loot of candy and visited with neighbors, Jon made us the best hot chocolate you have ever tasted (french vanilla). Judd loved trick or treating, and Jon and I loved watching him bounce from door to door, like Richard Simmons.

His owl duds!
I didn't put Remi in a costume. I know..bad mom but I just wanted him to be warm and comfortable, since he wasn't at his best.
Enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate
