Halloween Party

Jon's mom, Kris, and Jon's sister, Laurie, put on an annual Halloween party. This year they did not disappoint. We all had so much fun. It is amazing how much time and energy they put into this party. Judd has been talking about it for days!

I was a pirate and Jon had several costumes on throughout the night.
Remi was a girl and was adorable. Jon wasn't impressed with my decision to dress him as a girl.

Judd was an owl and thought he was the bomb diggity in his threads.
I was a pirate.
Aunt Laurie was a hula girl
Kris was a kitty cat.

Mummy contest.
Donut eating contest.
Maggie, Laurie's dog, even contributed to the festivities.

Such cute kids.

Bowling

Judd has been wanting to go to a pumpkin patch forever with his Dad, so we decided to invite the Dansie Family along. However, on the way to their house both Remi and Judd were cranky and I just had a feeling it had to do with their ears. Since Joe Dansie is an audiologist we asked him if he wouldn't mind taking a peek in both boy's ears. We had to go to his office, which I know is probably the last place he wants to go once he is done with work but he did it anyway...he is a trooper. We all went and got some good and bad news. Judd's tubes looked great and no ear infection. Unfortunately, poor Remi had fluid in his ears, which means tubes are probably inevitable. What is up with my kids and their ears?

Since we finished so late, and the pumpkin patch was most likely closed, we decided to take the boys bowling. Judd loved it. His first attempt included placing the bowling bowl on the line and giving it a big kick. He was definitely a hoot and a holler bowling. He loved it and the music playing in the background put a boogie in his step. The kid has got moves. Remi watched and thought it was enjoyable to grab every drink in sight and I literally had to pry them away from him. Little Booger.

Waiting for the Dansie clan in their front yard to get loaded up!

Judd was such a serious bowler and cheered at everyone's attempt, even if they were gutter balls.

This pic cracks me up because he was literally dancing back with his shoulders.

I Have a 4 Year Old!

I can't believe I have a 4 year old. Where did the time go? I don't think Judd completely understands the whole birthday thing yet, but he definitely knew this was a special day for him. Lately he has been obsessed with owls, so of course, we had an owl cake and cup cakes. He got to play with a friend on his birthday, bring treats to preschool, and have a little celebration with family and some friends. We still have a couple more celebrations with other family members, which Judd is looking forward to. Jon and I are so proud of Judd. He is such an important piece to our family, and we love him so much. He is growing into such a tender little boy. At times he can be rough around the edges, but his little personality has grown so sweet. This last Sunday he got to give a scripture and he did so good. I thought for sure he would be shy, but he stood up and spoke into the microphone repeating every little word I whispered in his ear. We love you Judd Bug!

So excited to get Mario Kart for his DS! Lincoln Dansie is the one next to him. Lincoln and Judd are the best of buds.

Jon & Joe Dansie...these two have been friends forever.

Aunt Laurie made Judd the cutest Letter Writing Kit. Since Marshall has moved to Wyoming, Judd loves to write weekly letters to him.

Granny Law (aka Kris) brought lots of craft gifts which Judd is obsessed with. We know what we will be doing this winter, when it is too cold to go outside.

Oh how these look like Koala Bears, but they were meant to look like owls :).

Made two cakes. Threw the first one away because it was horrible. Finally I just got out the frosting and did the best I could.

Fire Station Field Trip

Last week for play group we were able to visit the fire station for a field trip. We got the royal treatment, since one of the kiddo's dad is a fire fighter. Kids are funny sometimes. They were so, so shy until the end when they got to spray the water hose and get all wet. A mom jokingly said we should have done that activity first to get them warmed up. Judd loved the field trip, even though he acted afraid the entire time. Once we got in the car to drive home, Judd became "chatty kathy" about the fire station and acted as if he didn't cry and cling on to me for dear life for most of the visit.

The kiddos with their awesome fire fighter hats!

The letter of the week was "Ff" so they got rice krispy treats in the shape of the letter.

Fire fighter Steve Johnson. He is in our ward and he was so cute with the kids. All of the fire fighters were so nice. We know Steve as Brother Johnson, since he used to be one of our home teachers.

The hose was a blast for the kids. I think the girls were more into than the boys.

Judd was scared of the sirens so he covered his ears most the time. Doesn't he look like a happy camper?

Brothers!

Sometimes I get really frustrated with Judd, because every time I turn my back he is poking or prodding poor Remi. I don't think Judd is intending to hurt Remi, but it always seems to end with Remi crying and me discipling/yelling. What do you do? I feel like a broken record, telling Judd that he has to be soft, not so rough....that it is okay to play with your brother as long as he isn't getting hurt. I guess you just have to let these things work themselves out and continually give little reminders. Remi adores Judd and visa versa. I know that they are going to be best buddies!

Remi's Bath

The other morning Remi woke up and what a mess. Covered from head to toe in poop. So, I put him in the sink for a little bath. Most the time he screams bloody murder in the sink but this time he quite enjoyed himself. I think I finally figured out what scared him so much. Once I adjusted the faucet pressure, he was ay okay! Probably would have stayed in it all day, if I let him. Judd was still asleep so I didn't feel rushed to take Remi out. It was fun watching him splash and giggle at the water. We just love our little Remi.
