Lake Powell

This year we went to Lake Powell during the 4th of July holiday. It was hotter than a pancake but well worth it. I love these trips because I get to spend time with my family. After vacations are over I get the blues because I miss being around my family. Enjoy the pics!

Judd was very apprehensive this year about the water. Since he has ear tubes we had to be extra careful that he didn't go under, because heaven knows they would fall out and we would be paying for another round of these darn things. Judd loved to wade in the shallow water, splash his cousins (but cry if they splashed back), look for lizards, help clean up camp, and feed cereal to the fishes at the marina.

This little dumpling was amazing. Not a peep out of him, even when he was sweating to death. Remi is such a good boy. We totally rough it when we are at Lake Powell. We go down, down river and set up camp on the rocks. No motor home, camper, or tent. Luckily, my family let me sleep on the boat with Remi and he did awesome. He seriously makes me want to have 10 children because he is so good.

Nicholicious. It was his birthday when driving down to Lake Powell so we tried to make the day as fun as possible for him. He was a good sport and enjoyed every minute of getting what he wanted on that day.

Jack Attack is an awesome little wake boarder. He is shorter for his age but the boy has massive skills. He is so coordinated and just pops right out of the water.

Grace is always looking for a fun time. Dare Devil is what I like to call her. She would ride the sea do all day if she could. On the last day of the trip, I rode one of the wave runners back to the dock with her and Nick. Unfortunately we hit a horrible storm in the middle of the channel and I thought for sure we were going to sink. I was so afraid because I didn't know what I would do if Nick or her fell off. Seriously the waves were six feet tall and every time one hit the wave runner would go nose down. I was in tears and of course I hear Grace in the back shouting, "This is awesome!"

Ben, love the mohawk! The weekend before the trip we were up at Ben's house (my sister Kim's house) eating dinner. Some were inside at the dining room table and others were in the back- yard at the patio table. All of sudden Ben walks in with this hair do. "Ummm, who did that to your hair?" His response, "Jon (aka my husband) did." Ben had been bugging Jon for months to shave his head, so Jon finally did it (without permission). When I asked Jon what the sam hill got into him, he said he knew he shouldn't do it but he had a devil on his shoulder (aka my Dad...this is why we call him Naughty Papa) that convinced him it was okay. Needless to say, they had family photos taken when we got home from Lake Powell, because all of Kim's in-laws were in town for a missionary farewell.

My oldest sister Kim. She is the best sandwich making fool on the boat. Jon will only eat sandwiches made by her.

My sister Nickie and my niece Olivia. At first Nickie wasn't going to make this trip because she is a flight attendant and was supposed to be out of the country. However, her trip got cancelled so she got to come. When Jon found out she was coming, he got all excited because he said she is the only "Johnson" girl who knows how to work. Lake Powell is a lot of work.

Sawyer Bean. Judd and him have a love/hate relationship. My little Judd likes to push every one of his buttons. Thank you Sawyer for putting up with Juddkins!

Remi and Olivia.

Olivia is seriously my right hand girl. She helps me out so much with the kids. She is the little sister that I never had. On the trip she told me that she used to dislike me (I guess the teacher side of me would come out and I would help discipline...). Anyway, these last couple of years I have gotten to know her a lot better and I just love her cute little personality. We text constantly and I love that she shares all her boy drama with me.

Naughty Papa. I love him more than my luggage but this guy is a lot of work. All kidding aside, he is an awesome Grandpa. He works his fanny off making trips like this happen. It is hard for me to see his age catching up to him. He is still a ball of fire but he has simmered down a lot. He loves Lake Powell and visits often during the summer. I am so thankful for him.

Words cannot describe how amazing Jon is. Other than my Dad, he was the only guy on the trip. He did everything and made it a ton of fun for everyone. All the kids adore him. Thank you Jon for make Lake Powell a blast. You are my hero!
